The water treatment plant in Sand Springs has power and is back on line, but officials are still urging caution. Emergency officials say power was restored to the treatment plant early Tuesday morning. On Monday, Sand Springs officials asked residents and businesses in their community to conserve water until the power problem was fixed.

Sand Springs officials say rural customers need to continue conservation measures as some of the city's remote pumping stations remain without power.

"We can pump water at the treatment plant, but the outlying areas are still relying on what water is left in the tanks,” said Public Works Director Derek Campbell. “Water in these areas should only be used for drinking and sanitary purposes. We’re asking that residents avoid clothes and dishwashing, as well as any other non-necessary water uses.”

Sand Springs say service has been restored to one pump station which services southwest of the city. The concern is getting the water tanks refilled, so residents are being asked to continue conservation measures until the tanks are again full.
