NEW BOSTON, Texas (AP) -- The sentencing hearing on a sexual assault conviction for former Oklahoma State football player Chris Collins is being delayed because of flooding in his attorney's office.

District Judge Leon Pesek Junior in New Boston, Texas is postponing the sentencing from next Monday until January 14.

The 20-year-old Collins pleaded guilty in November to aggravated sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl at an after-prom party in May 2004 when he was 17.

A jury is recommending Collins be given five years probation.

Collins started at linebacker for Oklahoma State but was dismissed from the team five days after his guilty plea. An OSU spokesman says Collins remains enrolled at Oklahoma State as a student.

Officials say the flooding in the office of Collins' attorney occurred during the Thanksgiving holiday when a pipe burst.
