COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Two Texas A&M football players have been charged in an alleged armed robbery of a College Station apartment.
Police say 21-year-old Yemi Babalola of Bryan is charged with two aggravated robbery counts and one of misdemeanor marijuana possession. Also, 18-year-old Brandon Joiner of Killeen is charged with three drug possession counts, one of them a felony. Both men are in the Brazos County Jail in Bryan.
Police say one resident suffered minor injuries in the alleged November 29th home invasion at the Callaway Villas Apartments. Police say their investigation led to searches of both suspects' homes yesterday, where drugs and other evidence were found.
A&M athletic spokesman Alan Cannon tells The Dallas Morning News the school is aware of the situation and investigating.
Babalola started on the Texas A&M offensive line this season as a junior. Joiner is a freshman defensive end from Killeen.
