Pinkel, Mangino Share Big 12 Coach Of The Year

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ Missouri coach Gary Pinkel and Kansas coach Mark Mangino are this year's co-Big 12 coaches of the year in voting by the media who cover the conference.

Pinkel and Mangino each received ten votes.

Pinkel has Missouri ranked Number 1 in the nation and one win away from playing in the national championship game.

Mangino led Kansas to 11 straight wins and a Number 2 ranking before last week's loss to Missouri.

Both teams are 11-1 overall and 7-1 in the conference and Missouri will play Oklahoma for the Big 12 Championship on Saturday because of the win over Kansas.

OU handed Missouri its only loss of the season in mid-October.
