Tulsa resident Cortez Mosley is suspected of gunning down a Dallas man over the weekend and now authorities believe he could be headed back to Oklahoma. News On 6’s Ashli Sims reports Mosley is considered armed and dangerous. Gunfire erupted at a private party in downtown Dallas on Saturday night. Police say 27-year-old Bobby Washington was shuttling people to and from the party, when he was shot in the neck and killed.
"They didn't have any kind of words with each other. No confrontation. It just a guy randomly walking by saying he hate different dudes or whatever the case maybe and he chose to pick Bobby," said Sharita Washington, Bobby’s Wife.
Dallas Police suspect Cortez Mosley pulled the trigger.
Mosley is originally from Tulsa and is no stranger to the judicial system. Court records show he was convicted of shooting with intent to kill in 1999, when he was just 16-years-old. He was sentenced to ten years, but released after three years.
In 2003, Mosley was accused of robbing a convenience store. He served a little over a year for second degree robbery and driving under the influence. He was paroled in 2005.
Now Mosley is wanted for murder. Dallas police say he was last seen at the Greyhound station in Dallas and his last known address was in Tulsa.
State troopers and Tulsa Police are on the lookout for Mosley.
“I think because of the time frame. Generally within the first 24 hours. If they're going to get away they're going to do it. I would think if he was coming back to Oklahoma, he's already here,†said Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Betsy Randolph.
Bobby Washington leaves behind four kids ages five, three, two and one.
