NORMAN (AP) _ Some students at the University of Oklahoma and their parents are getting online help managing their expenses through Internet-based computer software.
OU is serving as a pilot program for XPC University, budgeting software developed by Oklahoma City-based Oklahoma Solutions.
The software allows students and parents to develop a budget together for any period of the semester. Students can prepare budget reports before expenses are due, and parents receive an e-mail when it is ready for review.
OU's director of Finanical Aid Services says the software was well received by students and parents in testing over the summer.
Now, OU is offering it to all undergraduate students this semester through a link on the Financial Aid Services Web site. The normal $39.95 enrollment fee is waived for OU students.
