TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Vice President Dick Cheney was in Tulsa Friday to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Tom Coburn.
Cheney spoke at a dinner where Coburn supporters paid $500 for a seat. They'll also paid $2,000 for a photograph with the vice president.
Cheney's visit comes five weeks before election day as polls show Coburn and Carson are locked in a virtual dead heat.
Last week, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee spoke in Oklahoma City and Tulsa to help Coburn raise money for his campaign.
Coburn and Carson, a congressman from the Second District, are vying for the seat being vacated by retiring Senator Don Nickles.
