OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Prosecutors Tuesday charged a state prison inmate with murder in the 1996 death of University of Oklahoma student Juli Busken[pictured right].
Cleveland County District Attorney Tim Kuykendall filed first-degree murder, rape, sodomy and kidnapping charges against 25-year-old Anthony Sanchez[pictured left].
Kuykendall says he will seek the death penalty.
Sanchez was jailed on burglary and escape convictions when he was identified as a suspect in the death of the Arkansas native earlier this year through DNA evidence.
State law requires burglary and assault convicts and sexual offenders to provide a DNA sample.
Busken was abducted from the parking lot of her apartment complex in Norman on December 20th, 1996. Her body was found that night near Lake Stanley Draper.
