An area teen is in custody after taking Owasso Police on an early Tuesday morning chase that started in Tulsa County and ended with a 2 car collision in Washington County.

Authorities say it started on 86th street North when an Owasso Police officer spotted two cars drag racing. When he pulled the cars over and approached the vehicles, the 17-year-old sped off.

Officers say he took off northbound on US Highway 75. Several local agencies were called in for back up.

Owasso Police Sgt Doug Driver: "Did run a road block, where OHP had stop sticks set up just by Ochelata. Vehicle was disabled about another quarter of a mile, and subject bailed on foot".

The Owasso officer slammed into the suspect’s car after he bailed out. A reserve officer was injured in the wreck. But was treated and released at a Bartlesville hospital.

The teen was later caught by police. His name hasn't been released.
