OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The number of traffic fatalities in Oklahoma is down by 22 for August. But the number of people killed on the state's roads is still nearly 100 higher than at the same time a year ago.
The Department of Public Safety says 47 people died in traffic accidents in August, down from 69 in August 2003.
There have been 529 people killed in accidents so far this year, an increase of 96 from the 433 killed at this time a year ago.
