Thousands of people teamed up to help others Friday as part of the United Way "Day of Caring".
The United Way's annual fundraising campaign kicked off Friday morning with a ceremony at Drillers Stadium. Elsewhere, more about 5,000 people are volunteering around Tulsa to help raise money.
Tulsa Area United Way Director Kathleen Coan says it's a win-win situation for everyone involved. ""I mean, not only the agencies who get things done that they couldn't possibly afford, but also for the companies to get a face to an agency and get a better idea of where that money goes."
The United Way's hopes to raise nearly $21-million this year for it's 68 agencies.
