ENID, Okla. (AP) _ Enid city commissioners have voted to prohibit anyone under 21 from getting into a strip club.

State law allows 18 to 20-year-olds to frequent bars where low-point beer is served, but doesn't allow them to drink.

City Attorney Carol Lahman says there's concern that it would be difficult to monitor patrons in that age group if they're allowed to enter strip clubs where low-point beer and other intoxicating beverages are served.

Lahman says the city has the authority to regulate low-point beer and nudity. But she says expanding the new rule to all establishments where such drinks are served would require a change in state law.

There were requests that strip club employees be exempted from the under-21 rule, but that amendment proposal died when no one seconded the motion.
