Many Oklahomans ignore the easiest way to save their lives on the road, wearing a seatbelt.

Tulsa Police cracked down Monday with a buckle bust at three different locations. It didn't take long for officers to find plenty of drivers who didn't buckle up. The police pulled over cars that had at least one person without a seatbelt.

It's against the law for any front seat passenger to ride without one. Tulsa Police Sgt Rick Bondy: "Almost as many people die in car wrecks in Tulsa as die because they got murdered. And I'd bet that most all of those traffic deaths were preventable."

The fine for not wearing a seatbelt is $20. Officers say it's the simplest and cheapest safety device available on cars.
