OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The price of gasoline in Oklahoma is still higher than a year ago, but is the cheapest in the nation and is down by six cents a gallon from ten days ago.

AAA Oklahoma says the average price for a gallon of gas in Oklahoma is $1.72 per gallon. The next lowest average price is in Missouri at $1.726 per gallon.

AAA spokesman Chuck Mai says continued oil production by Yukos Energy in Russia and the easing of tensions in Yugoslavia is helping bring down prices.

The average price for gas in Tulsa is $1.67 per gallon while the average in Oklahoma City is $1.69.

The nationwide average is $1.85.
