Several new state laws took effect Wednesday. They help out everything from debt to state trauma care.
The biggest money maker increases the fee to reinstate a revoked driver's license. It's expected to produce nearly $12-million a year for trauma care.
Another new law adds fines for drinking and driving offenses and other motor vehicle violations.
And a third allows revenue bonds to pay off the $5-million debt leftover from the construction of the state Capitol dome.
