Miss Oklahoma is ready to represent the Sooner state in the Miss America pageant. Elizabeth Kinney is headed to Washington DC for a week of activities with the rest of the contestants.

The trip is the first official event leading up to the crowning of Miss America 2005. Elizabeth says she's ready for the challenge. "I don't come from a family with lots of power or lots of money, but my parents taught me that if I wanted to achieve something, I could do it, but I would have to work hard at it."

Elizabeth is an OSU agriculture graduate from Moorland, Oklahoma.
