LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ University of Tulsa quarterback James Kilian is one of 22 preseason candidates for the 2004 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm award.

Established in 1987, the award is given annually to the nation's top senior quarterback.

A senior from Medford, Kilian led the Golden Hurricane to an 8-and-5 record and an appearance in the Humanitarian Bowl last year.

In his first season as the starting quarterback, Kilian completed 57 percent of his passes for two-thousand-17 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was also the team's second-leading rusher with 605 yards and seven touchdowns.
