CHOCTAW, Okla. (AP) -- A program intended to reduce aggressive teenage drivers in Choctaw is being put on hold because of a lack of funding.

Police Chief Billy Carter applied for a more than $90,000 federal grant, but says he received only about $10,000.

Carter planned to buy radar and camera equipment and have two officers work overtime on streets used by high school students before and after school and during lunch.

The project was developed after Choctaw High School student Brad Peters was killed in January in a lunchtime auto accident. Peters was thrown from an SUV when it rolled after clipping a school bus it was passing.
