OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Former undisputed heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe is applying for an Oklahoma boxing license -- a move that could clear the way for a possible second fight in Oklahoma.

Bowe announced yesterday that he would make his comeback with a fight September 25th against veteran Jeff Lally at the FireLake Casino in Shawnee.

He does not need an Oklahoma boxing license for the fight on tribal land.

An administrator with the state Boxing Commission says Bowe received preliminary approval of his state license but would need separate approval of any proposed fight.

Bowe has said he wants to fight 15 times in an attempt to contend for the heavyweight title within 18 months. He has given no indication of plans for a second fight in Oklahoma.
