There's new information on which Tulsa Public Schools need improvement. Tulsa Public Schools announced Friday, 22 schools in the district didn't meet state standards for progress.

The federal No Child Left Behind Act requires schools meet specific goals on test scores and attendance. If they don't, they're put on the School Improvement List.

Anderson, Bryant, Celia Clinton, Mark Twain and Springdale Elementary Schools missed the mark last year and again this year. And 10 more elementary schools were added to the list for the first time this year.

The list includes Burroughs, Cherokee, Eugene Field, Hawthorne, Houston, Kendall-Whittier, McClure, Roosevelt, Whitman and the International School.

Almost half of Tulsa's middle schools also need improvement according to the state standards. Those on the list this year include Cleveland, Clinton, Foster, Gilcrease, Hamilton, Monroe and Madison. 5 of those middle schools were also on the list last year.

Tulsa Public Schools is questioning the state results. They say their data shows 9 of the schools may not need to be listed.
