A group of physicians and investors announced plans Tuesday to build a hospital in Owasso.

Construction starts soon on the 50-bed Bailey Medical Center, southwest of 106th Street North and Garnett.

Doctors and investors are prepared to spend $30-million on the new hospital. They say it will add to the quality of life of everyone in the community. Orthopedic surgeon Dr Tracy Painter: "To the average citizen in Owasso, it's going to mean that they'll have all the services and health care that they need right around the corner and that obviously saves precious time in the event of an emergency.”

Last week, the News on 6 told you how some Owasso residents are upset about plans for another Owasso hospital - one the city's planning commission says developers can build near US Highway 169 and 96th Street North.
