ENID, Okla. (AP) _ An Enid man faces an Oct. 14 formal sentencing after pleading guilty to two counts of rape.

Jeremy Dewayne Garrett, 24, entered guilty pleas Thursday to one count of first-degree rape and a second-degree rape count. Garrett didn't negotiate a plea agreement with prosecutors.

The second-degree count stems from an incident in which Garrett had sex with a 14-year-old girl in June 2003. The girl believed he was 17, according to court documents.

Authorities learned of the relationship between Garrett and the girl after she told a counselor she was having sex with the same person who had been charged with raping another teen, the affidavit states.

The girl's mother told police her daughter said she had sex with Garrett after reading about his arrest on an unrelated rape charge in the Enid News & Eagle.

In the other case, Garrett is charged with forcing himself on a 15-year-old girl in April 2003 after parking his car on a deserted road, according to court documents.
