TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Tulsa's riverfront development plan clears another hurdle Thursday, earning the endorsement of the Indian Nations Council of Governments' board.

The plan calls for new bridges, low-water dams and an expanded trail network along the Arkansas River's 42 miles in Tulsa County.

The proposal for future development now goes to the US Army Corps of Engineers for technical review and budget analysis.

The plan was developed by Texas engineering firm Carter and Burgess Incorporated and is Tulsa's first riverfront enhancement project in decades.

It recommends millions of dollars in public projects that may take up to 30 years to complete but no money for construction.
