STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Long-time Oklahoma State baseball coach Gary Ward is returning to O-S-U to head up the university's baseball booster organization.

Cowboys Athletic Director Harry Birdwell announced today that Ward will head O-S-U's Homerun Club and assist in fund-raising for its baseball stadium.

Ward was Oklahoma State's head baseball coach from 1978 through 1996 and guided the Cowboys to 16 straight conference titles. Oklahoma State also appeared in 10 College World Series under Ward, including an N-C-A-A record seven straight appearances.
