Some students and their parents got a sneak peak Sunday of the new Broken Arrow school where students will go to learn this year.
Liberty Elementary is Broken Arrow's 14th elementary school. It’s located at 44th and 209th East Avenue.
Voters approved it in last year's city bond election. Principal Karyne Gates and the staff say they're excited to welcome more than 600 students on the first day of class. "Getting to meet so many new faces, all the parents and the children, and new teachers. The other part is getting to open a new building and start on new traditions."
The first day of school for Liberty students is August 12th. Liberty is also the district's first elementary school to have a gymnasium.
