Medication errors are the number one consumer complaint about pharmacies and can be deadly.

The News on 6 caught up with a local family who caught three serious errors in six months. Angie and Skylar have three babies, their twin boys were born prematurely a month ago.

All three require prescription medications for minor medical problems. While Angie was still pregnant, a pharmacist tried to give her a bottle of cancer pills instead of an anti-nausea medication, and then their little girl had to be hospitalized for a staph infection that got worse when "another" pharmacist failed to fill an antibiotic prescription.

Angie says the last incident, was the worst. "I pull out what's supposed to be and then for the boys' medicine. It looks right. Its two identical little bottles. Instead what I found out they for somebody else."

The state pharmacy board says drug stores don't have to keep track of medication mistakes, so you should report any errors to the Board.
