Oklahoma's primary election is just days away. Voters will decide a number of political races including the seat for 1st district congressman.

Incumbent John Sullivan has spent two years in Congress and we've gotten to know the native Tulsan over the years but who's his opponent.

"I'm Bill Wortman, I graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1955 went to the navy, attended Oklahoma State University."

And 66-year-old Bill Wortman is running for Congress.

"Every time I saw a Sullivan sign I stopped and introduced myself. I met a lot of nice people and changed a lot of minds."

Wortman and his campaign volunteers went door-to-door talking to residents
handing out literature about his plans for a better Tulsa. This longtime Tulsa businessman says he is mad about the way Congress, particularly how John Sullivan has spent Oklahomans money.

Wortman, a married father of five and owner of Wortman Central Air Conditioning, says if elected, he will stand up to politicians and fight for taxpayers to control federal spending.

"My main goal is to get the federal government back to it's constitutional boundaries and have the state government have the power."

But Wortman has big shoes to fill. John Sullivan has held the first district seat for the past two years. The native Tulsan has almost a decade of experience in politics having also served seven years in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

But Wortman says Sullivan still doesn't understand the needs of his constituents.

"People are tired of professional politicians, all they want is to get re-elected. I got a job, I've got a retirement, I don't need it. I'm going up there to do the first district business."
"I know I have a chance against him I have more than a chance against him!"
