LANSING, Kan. (AP) _ A Kansas prison escapee is now in custody in Oklahoma.

Officials say 38-year-old Anthony Jefferson was arrested about 7:30 Sunday night in Tulsa. He's being held there pending extradition back to Kansas.

Jefferson escaped from a prison work crew last Friday in Kansas City, Kansas. He's serving a 40-month sentence for a drug conviction and is awaiting trial on rape, kidnapping and attempted murder charges.
