A Tulsa lawyer is suing the nation's number 1 superfund site. Attorney Brad Barron filed the lawsuit on behalf of 45 children who lived near Tar Creek in Ottawa County.

The suit names four mining companies, who produced lead and zinc in the Picher-Cardin area. The suit says the companies knowingly contributed to the children having the highest blood-lead levels in the state.

Barron says he hopes justice will prevail. "One of the things that's disturbing about lead poisoning is it essentially takes away a child's future, and hopefully, if were successful in these lawsuits, we can get a piece of that back for them."

Experts say lead poisoning can lead to health and behavioral problems.
