Emergency crews were kept busy after a hazardous spill shut-down an Oklahoma highway.
It happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 59, about a mile south of Jay in Delaware County. Traffic was rerouted around the contaminated section of highway, while hazmat workers clean up about 1,200 gallons of diesel fuel and gasoline.
Jay firefighters were on the scene to keep the wreckage cool and avoid an explosion. Troopers say the trucker’s load may have shifted in transit, causing it to overturn.
The driver was transported to a Tulsa hospital with minor injuries.
