(Owasso-AP) -- Owasso High School graduate and Oklahoma baseball signee Dallas Trahern is going to professional baseball.

Trahern has signed a pro contract with the Detroit Tigers and is being sent to Detroit's rookie league team in Lakeland, Florida.

Trahern is a right-handed pitcher who helped Owasso to three state championships in the past four seasons.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Trahern says it is a good offer and he's ready to begin his pro career.
