(Midland, Texas-AP) -- Shane Bazzell held the Tulsa Drillers to two hits and no runs in six innings as the Midland RockHounds won 2-to-1 in Texas League play.
Bazzell, in his second start of the year, struck out nine batters and walked two last night in Texas.
Mike Esposito took the loss, despite giving up only two runs in seven innings. He allowed six hits, struck out nine batters and walked one.
The RockHounds scored early, when Drillers catcher Dan Conway missed a pitch and allowed Jon Weber to reach first base in the first inning. John Baker doubled and sent Weber to home plate.
In the third inning, Weber singled and then scored on an R-B-I double by Baker.
The Drillers managed one run in the eighth off Jairo Garcia.
Marcus Gwyn earned the save.
