(Oklahoma City-AP) – Prosecutors Wednesday showed jurors luggage Brenda Andrew, her children and another man took to Mexico after her husband's death but before his funeral.
Oklahoma County Assistant District Attorney Gayland Gieger brought ten suitcases to the witness stand, and a police detective identified them as Andrew's luggage.
Andrew is standing trial on a first-degree murder charge in the death of her husband, Rob Andrew.
Oklahoma City homicide Detective Roland Garrett was the only witness called to the stand Wednesday. He says two Agatha Christie books were included in the luggage. One was titled "Crystal Cyanide" and the other was titled "Murder is Easy."
Defense attorney George Miskovsky the third claims Brenda Andrew got the books so her children could practice reading and writing. He says the books may have been the only ones available in English in Mexico.
