Former state senator Gene Stipe is getting a stern warning from his probation officer.

Stipe attended and spoke at a political luncheon despite serving six months home detention as part of his probation for perjury and violation of federal election laws.

The probation officer says it's "borderline" whether Stipe violated probation, so he won't be reported to the court.
