(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The state Supreme Court is refusing to reinstate a former prosecutor and judge who was convicted of racketeering and extortion.
Former Oklahoma County prosecutor and special district Judge Bill Page had asked for reinstatement.
Page was convicted in 1983 on federal charges of taking payoffs from a drug dealer.
Page maintains he's innocent and the drug dealer has since recanted his testimony. But the court says it must take the federal conviction as fact and that Page accepted bribes while serving as an assistant district attorney and as a judge.
