June is home ownership month in the city of Tulsa. To mark the occasion, folks in the housing business planted a tree in the yard of first-time home buyers Gary and Jennifer Brown.

They also read a proclamation that shows the city's commitment to provide families with the tools and information they need to become home owners. The Brown's hope their new home will encourage others to buy as well.

Gary Brown: "You actually own something; it's yours, nothing against renting, alot easier being a homeowner."

June is also marked nationwide as home ownership month.
