A Tulsa company is announcing expansion plans Tuesday, an oil and gas company no less. It's a story you'll only see on the News on 6.
News on 6 business reporter Steve Berg says Callidus Technologies isn't saying the exact reason for their expansion plans. But they're planning for a significant increase in their workforce of 200 people.
Callidus provides a number of different products for the oil and gas refinery business. They have a research and testing facility in Beggs. In fact we did a story about two years ago on what was then its new product, the Ultra Blue Burner, an ultra-low emissions for refineries that dramatically decreases pollution.
The chairman of the company, Bill Bartlett, says Callidus has always performed well, and has had especially strong profits since 1999. Tuesday's announcement though will open a whole new chapter for the company. "We'll have growth plans both in building our business and hopefully bringing more jobs to the Tulsa marketplace."
He wasn't able to elaborate, but Bartlett says Tuesday's announcement will also secure the company's location here in Tulsa, a welcome change with so may oil and gas companies going to Houston.
