We have new developments in a story the News on 6 was first to bring you last week. Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris has asked Bixby Police for the results of their investigation into the shooting of a family's golden retriever.
Harris says he must decide whether criminal charges should be filed against Bixby Police officer Corey Forister. Forister says he shot six year old "Fluppy" in self defense, but the News on 6 has learned an eyewitness saw Fluppy drop to the ground after Forister fired the first shot.
The dog was shot three times while on a cable in the family’s backyard.
Tulsa County DA Tim Harris: "You've got an individual officer who decided that that was necessary to use deadly force. He may well be justified in having done so, okay? But if he's not that needs to be reviewed by his superiors by me and a cause of conduct needs to be decided."
A decision from Bixby Police chief on what will happen to Forister could be announced Tuesday.
