A soldier’s wife in Green Country is working to make sure soldiers overseas have the protection they need.
All American troops in Iraq now have bullet resistant vests. As late as March, worries about shortages were leading some soldiers to buy their own armor.
Heidi Ray wants to make sure soldiers have extra body armor. She's formed a non profit group to raise money. "You can be active in this. I guarantee it will help. This will go to a good cause and will make a difference. It will make a difference."
The non-profit organization, Soldiers Guardian Angels, is accepting donations. You can make a tax deductible donation to P.O. Box 1796 in Owasso. The zip code is 74055.
The group also hopes to raise money to replace Global Positioning Satellite units that have been damaged in Iraq and Afghanistan.
