Krebs assault suspect sought

Police officers and their families are taking extra precautions in Pittsburg County. A woman in Krebs was the target of a vicious attack and she happens to be the wife of a Krebs reserve police officer.

According to police, the victim was leaving home last Friday morning when a masked man grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and stole her purse. Before leaving, the attacker cut the woman's hair and threatened other officer's wives.

Krebs Police chief Dennis Cook: "We take all threats seriously. I think if you work in this field long enough you know you get threatened in your career someone not happy the way you investigate a case or you send a family member to prison, we can't make everyone happy."

The Krebs Police Department is offering a $2,500 reward for anyone who has information that leads to an arrest.
