(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma City officials are hoping the Internet will help them collect (m) millions of dollars in overdue traffic tickets and other fines.

Officials say about $37-million is owed the city for the overdue tickets, including more than $93,000 owed by one person. The money is enough to pay the salary for one year for more than 1,000 rookie police officers or 740 firefighters.

The city is now testing an online system to allow people who get traffic tickets to pay with credit cards. The system is expected to be operating sometime this month on the city's Web site.
