OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Officials continued tallying the damage Monday that weekend severe storms left across northern Oklahoma.

Numerous tornadoes dropped from a large rotating thunderstorm that began in west-central Oklahoma Saturday afternoon and eventually died out in northeastern Oklahoma hours later early Sunday.

The storms destroyed at least 16 homes, five mobile homes and two businesses, and caused major damage to 10 homes and four mobile homes, the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management reported Monday.

A state of emergency continued in Geary, a Blaine County community of about 1,300 hit hard by Saturday's storms.

The tornado affected at least 90 homes and mobile homes there, ODEM officials said.

Officials have barred outdoor water use in the town and power lines remain down in some areas, officials said.

In Oklahoma County, power lines remain down in the Deer Creek area, authorities reported. At least seven homes and two businesses were destroyed, and the high school sustained extensive roof damage, officials said.

As the storms moved into Creek County, they destroyed two homes and three mobile homes. Three homes were damaged in Mayes county, officials added.

Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. reported 380 customers were still without power on Monday in the Edmond, Piedmont and Choctaw areas. At the height of the storms, 9,000 were without electric service, the ODEM reported.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported one weather-related fatality in Canadian County after a pickup truck hit two horses and slammed into a building, killing the driver Saturday night.

The horses were roaming on Oklahoma Highway 3 and Gregory Road after strong winds knocked over a fence, allowing them to roam free.

Mark Moreno Lopez, 19, was westbound on the highway about 10:10 p.m. when he hit the horses, the patrol said.

The Hennessey resident was taken to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
