With so many people traveling for Memorial Day, we wanted to give you some safe and fun ideas right here in Oklahoma.

If you want to spend some quality time with the family, water gives you many options. News on 6 anchor Scott Thompson says the lifeguards and staff at Big Splash are gearing up for an exciting weekend, but if you want to spend some secluded time with the family, the lakes are a perfect place.

Tall Chief Cove offers activities for the whole family. Located on Skiatook Lake, this area is packed with fishing areas, boat docks, and a swimming beach. If it’s camping that you want to do, you might want to book your spot early. Sheila Dedmon, Tall Chief Cove gate attendant: "All campsites are already full. They're already reserved and people are already coming in//we have tent camping I do have some of that and its first come first serve basis on our tent camping."

If you want to stay in town, expect to pay a little bit. Big Splash is offering a two for one price for all Memorial Day visitors. They gates will be open Saturday at 10 AM.
