ATHENS, Ga. (AP) _ Defending champion Amber Liu of Stanford beat Clemson's Julie Coin 6-1, 7-6 (2) on Friday to reach the final of the women's NCAA tennis tournament.

Liu, the fourth seed, will meet third-seeded Jelena Pandzic of Fresno State on Saturday. Pandzic eliminated sixth-seeded Megan Bradley of Miami 6-4, 6-1 on Friday.

``I feel great,'' Pandzic said. ``But it is still not finished. I have one more.''

Pandzic, a freshman, is 29-1 this year and has lost only four sets. She beat Liu 6-2, 6-2 on March 3.

``It is always good to have played someone before,'' said Liu, a sophomore from LaMesa, Calif. ``She has good ground strokes and moves well. She is from Europe and has played a lot of good players.''

Pandzic fell behind Bradley 3-0 in her semifinal match before winning 12 of the last 14 games.

Liu will be trying to become the fourth player to win back-to-back NCAA singles titles, joining Patty Fendick, Stanford, 1986-87; Lisa Raymond, Florida, 1992-93; and Laura Granville, Stanford, 2000-01.

The doubles final matches UCLA's Daniela Bercek and Lauren Fisher against Marshall's Jessica Johnson and Ashley Kroh.
