Burglary hurts a Bixby family

A Bixby woman is missing her soldier husband more than ever, thanks to some thieves, who broke into her home and stole the family's possessions.

Cheryl, who doesn't want her last name used, says the crooks took DVD's and electronics. They even took the family's the laptop computer, in which her daughters used to connect with their father in Iraq.

And the family dog, a toothless, 8-year-old schnauzer, was nearly beaten to death, devastating the little girls. Cheryl: "Thankful that's all that happened was the stuff and we weren't home because if they hurt the dog like that they could've easily hurt us."

The dog survived surgery, but is still fighting for its life.

Cheryl's installing a security system. She says Bixby Police told her catching the thieves is unlikely, because there wasn't enough evidence.
