An old water tower in Jenks has found a new home. The water tower has sat unused in a field in Jenks. It once served as a transportation and storage hub for crude oil. Now, Koch Pipeline Company has donated the tower to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in Muskogee.
The tower will sit outside the Music Hall of Fame Museum, which is being renovated now. Holly Rossermiller with the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame: "Our museum is going to be housed in a Railroad depot. And railroad freight depots always had a water tower that serviced the freight train when it came in."
Music Hall of Fame organizers say the tower will tell museum visitors the important role trains and railroad music played in early Oklahoma.
Koch Pipeline is paying to relocate and restore the tower.
