(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Regulating casino-style gaming at Oklahoma horse racetracks could cost $2.7-million in the first year.
Track officials are trying to figure out where the money will come from.
Gordon Hare of the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission says state lawmakers have told him the legislature won't provide the money. Hare says license fees could be charged to vendors and the tracks.
He and members of a task force that's working to implement gaming at racetracks also plan to visit Iowa and New Mexico to study how those states handle gaming.
A bill allowing racetracks to operate the same games as Indian casinos has passed the Legislature and was signed into law last month by Governor Henry.
The law takes effect 90 days after the Legislature adjourns.
