(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The attorney for a fired Oklahoma City police chemist says there will be no settlement of a lawsuit filed against her and others.
A man wrongly convicted of rape is suing Joyce Gilchrist, former District Attorney Bob Macy and Oklahoma City. Jeff Pierce is asking for $75-million in the federal lawsuit and his attorney filed paperwork in the case saying a settlement is ``possible.''
Pierce's attorney says he wrote a settlement is possible because he doesn't want to close any doors.
Pierce was convicted of rape in 1986 after Gilchrist testified hairs at the scene matched Pierce. Pierce was released from prison in 2001 after DNA tests exonerated him.
Gilchrist was fired in September 2001 after an FBI report accused her of misidentifying evidence and offering misleading testimony in at least six criminal cases.
