The Cherokee Nation has signed a deal with Bacone College to establish an information technology course. And it will benefit more than just Cherokee students.
Chief Chad Smith announced a $30,000 donation to start the new course track at Bacone. The college will provide scholarships for 15 Cherokee students. But the coursework is available to any student - and most of it can be completed via the Internet.
The new Cherokee Nation funded School of Information Technology will open this summer.
