(Norman-AP) -- Norman officials have tentatively identified a woman's body based on tattoos.
They're waiting on the medical examiner to definitively identify her based on dental records. Police believe she was reported missing at one time.
About nine children between the ages of six and 16 found the body Monday afternoon while playing capture the flag in a wooded area.
Police Lieutenant Tom Easley doesn't believe the children knew it was human remains. At first, they thought it was a Halloween costume.
The body was hanging by a chain from a tree branch. The children dragged the body to two locations in the Twisted Oak Apartment complex. They destroyed evidence in the process.
One of the children, David Anderson, says the whole situation was "creepy" and "sick."
Officers say it's being investigated as a suspicious death or homicide.
